About the role

We are looking for experienced Cloud Engineering Managers to join the Cloud Platform Services team, and lead one or more engineering squads to plan, deliver and support service features that deliver customer value and mature service capability.

You will also be accountable for the strategic development of services, vendor and business relationship management, across the team that is responsible for NAB’s Multicloud Strategy.

Some of the core responsibilities would be:

  • Managing the design, development and testing of Service features as code end to end in line with objectives;
  • Leading an agile delivery squad, contributing to sprint backlogs and plans, performance management, fostering engineering standards, code quality and adherence to development guardrails and testing;
  • Supporting code in production and managing in-life pattern patching and defect resolution;
  • Qualifying and managing delivery from downstream service teams and/or third-party vendors in line with service boundaries, as well as managing and coordinating requirements from Security, Network and Architecture teams;
  • Proactively manage risk, meeting all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to process and procedures and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified (risk accountability forms part of all roles, as everyone is responsible for managing risk and compliance);
  • Monitor relevant technology breakthroughs, developments, and trends in domains of expertise; experimentation and adoption of promising practices and technologies in the unit's work.

About you

If you have advanced technical knowledge in automated delivery products/technology/ tools and a passion to lead teams, and work in the infrastructure-as-code space coupled with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, this would be the perfect role for you. Some of the key experience/skills we are looking for are:

  • Experience leading an Engineering Squad, and being an enabler, setting the direction and being able to remove blockers;
  • Proven experience in managing a diverse team, with the ability and passion for mentoring and upskilling;
  • Strong, diverse technical skills across infrastructure, networks, security and applications, with specific projects or previous experience in the build of Cloud Environments;
  • Experience in infrastructure-as-code development, with the following cloud knowledge as Mandatory: AWS core services – EC2/EBS/ELB/NLB/ALB/RDS/CFN/Lambda: AWS (EMR, ECS, ECR, EKS), Azure core services – VM/Managed Disks/LB/AzureSQL Paas/ARM Templates/Functions.

It will also be desirable to have experience with HDInsight, Container Service, Container Registry as well as related automation concepts (Python, Powershell, Json template generators). You will also possess robust experience in networking concepts as applied to infrastructure-as-code.
