The Senior Compute Operations Engineer reports to the Senior Operations Manager. The role focuses on providing operational and project support ensuring that the GTI hosted and managed services/applications and the virtualization and compute layers are highly available.

Contributes to produce and maintain processes, procedures, operational and architectural documentation meeting GTI standards.
Is accountable for execution according to established standards, procedures, and processes.
Owns cross-functional support for development and implementation of systems.
Ensures data center systems are always available and reliable.
Ensures optimization and performance of the hardware and virtual infrastructure.
Is responsible for awareness and compliance to policy and guidelines of the ISMS.
Ensures compliance with Change Control processes and adherence to standards and documentation.
Owns 24x365 virtualization operation and management.
Is responsible for ensuring all virtualization hosts within the data center(s) conform to the same standard configurations and driver/firmware levels that are in line with leading practices.
Identifies repeatable operational tasks and issues & creates automated resolutions to these situations to reduce operational overhead within the virtualization function as well as other enabling areas as required.
Supports infrastructure applications from a Virtualization function as required, including VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V, SQL Server, SharePoint, SAP and Microsoft Clustering.
Drives optimization and performance of hardware infrastructure.
Monitors the Service Desk system.
Participates in planned “Systems Day” and other maintenance activities.
Participates in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.
Responds to and manages service issues and problems.
Reports any breaches in information security or policies.
Participates in global working groups responsible for the deployment and development of global technology systems and infrastructure.
Participates in the business impact assessment and risk assessment processes and helps identifying appropriate controls to mitigate identified risks.
Understands and communicates requirements of member firms and external regulatory bodies for data privacy.
Advises stakeholders with peer guidance about basic knowledge and background of all Solutions Architecture technologies, processes and issues.
Understands and manages the relationships of all GTI relevant stakeholders.
Supports the execution of the primary goals of IT Governance.

managing and organizing documentation within operational environments with focus upon indexing and content labeling.
demonstrating expertise of IT governance concepts.
recognizing and handling confidential and sensitive information.
understanding the portfolio and the business drivers of the various components.
operating within a process-driven organization, but not be limited or constrained by it.
ITIL Foundation Qualification.
Professional certifications are preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate strategic information security topics, policies and standards as well as risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels.
Sound knowledge of business management and an expert knowledge of information / cybersecurity strategy and governance.
In-depth knowledge of VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V, including hyper-converged platforms.
In-depth knowledge of Windows PowerShell.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server as it pertains to virtualization and storage best practices.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Clustering.
Strong knowledge of Backup and Replication technologies including on and off site.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft System Center products.
Ability to manage a global team in a matrix environment.
Ability to travel as needed up to 5%.
